Make sure the property is suitable for horses
on: October 7, 2014, 03:09

Time and time again I see homes listed as "horse properties" that should probably not be considered horse properties. Sometimes they will say it is a horse property just because the covenants allows for horses they call it a horse property. There is much more to it than that. Is the property flat with good gazing? There is a good deal of property here that is 20 acres but it is all rock outcroppings and has more vertical than Breckenridge Ski Resort. Also a huge factor is the well. That is why I would suggest using a mountain broker that has experience in wells and septic. You don't want to buy your new horse property and have to ship water in.
