Stuff to do on Evergreen Lake

Well it’s Memorial Day Weekend and I would like to say thanks to all our vets out there that have fought for country and those who are currently active. Thank You!

Memorial Day is also the kick off to the summer. Evergreen lake does have winter activities but the summer is when it is awesome on Evergreen Lake. They have daily rentals on canoes, paddle boards, Evergreen Lakepaddle boats and much more. The actual Evergreen Lake House hosts a ton of weddings because it is a beautiful area and great for wedding photos. Most of the time the actually lake house is locked and you do not have access in. That doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty to do.

One thing you need to know is that the north side (by the road) is completely clocked off for pedestrian traffic. It has been for 2 years and they do not have a date of re-opening that side at the time of this post. It does make it a pain to walk the lake as well as the south side is now very crowded and hard to fish and sometimes walk.

You can rent boats at the boat house for a small amount on an hourly bases. Last year it was like 10 bucks an hour. It is a nice small lake that is very easy to navigate. Although there is a pretty large waterfall on one side but it is clearly marked. It is a great time and me and the kids go out at least once a weekend in the summer.

The Evergreen Lake concert are an absolute blast. They are free and you are able to bring your own snacks and drinks. It makes for an inexpensive night for the whole family. They do have vendors and food carts if you want to buy some food but they do not sell adult beverages but you can bring them with you.

They also hold a lot of community day events. Like the taste of Evergreen and they had the Chilly Cook Off there for a while. I heard it might go back there. The lake is very close to downtown Evergreen and other restaurants like Willow Creek and Keys on the Green.

The lake is a fantastic place to just go for a walk and sit on one of the benches on the board walk and watch people or wild life. There are plenty of elk and deer. The birds there are great to watch as well. So if you are in Evergreen for a visit be sure to stop by Evergreen Lake for a nice walk or to catch some trout.
